Companionate love - Definition and Overview |
|
|
Companionate love is a form of love that combines friendship and commitment. Companionate love is generally a personal relation you build with somebody you share your life with, but with no sexual or physical desire. It is stronger than friendship but might traditionally be considered weaker than romantic love. It is similar to the love ideally shared between siblings, but with someone which is not a part of one's family. This is one of love's forms described in the triangular theory of love.
