Conditioner - Definition and Overview

A conditioner is something which improves the quality of another material. For example, hair conditioners are often used alongside shampoo to increase the texture and appearance of human hair.

Conditioning agents are also called moisturizers in some cases and usually are composed of various oils and lubricants. One method of their use is coating of the substrate to alter their feel and appearance.

An easy and inexpensive way to condition one's hair and improve the health of one's scalp is to mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice (but not both) with 8 oz. of water and use in small amounts after shampooing. While not foaming, etc., the positive changes to one's hair will be apparent after the first or second wash.
