Convention center - Definition and Overview

A convention center is a huge, cavernous public building that is large enough to host public events (like conventions) for not only a city, but its surrounding metropolitan area. Convention centers are usually occupied by annual meetings of large organizations (of national or international scope), industry trade shows, and the occasional entertainment spectacle or concert.
