Copwatch is a United States organization that "polices the police". The modern concept of copwatching is based on a model of police accountability used by the Black Panther Party, where members of the Party would follow police officers on patrols in poor black neighborhoods. The Panthers would intervene when the police would become intimidating or abusive to blacks they had detained.
