Corrientes Province - Definition and Overview

Corrientes is a province of Argentina, located in the northeast of the country. The capital is Corrientes. The province has a population of 930,991 (2001), and covers an area of 88,199 km². Neighboring are from the north clockwise the country Paraguay, the province Misiones, Brazil, and the provinces Entre Rios, Santa Fe and Chaco.

The province is divided in 25 departments (spanish departamentos).
