The Council of Science Editors (CSE) is the organization that publishes Scientific Style and Format: The CBE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers, an influential style guide for scientific papers. Formerly known as the Council of Biology Editors (CBE), in 1999 the organization voted to change its name to Council of Science Editors. The change became effective on January 1 2000. The CBE was established in 1957 by the National Science Foundation and the American Institute of Biological Sciences. See also: CBE style |
