County Armagh (Ard Mhacha in Irish) is a county on the island of Ireland. County Armagh is known by some as the Orchard of Ireland because the land is so fertile. Its main town is Armagh.

Armagh is one of the six counties that form the political entity of Northern Ireland.

The Southern Part of Armagh (South Armagh) is the most militarized region in Western Europe due to a history of armed struggle along the border of Ireland, North and South. South Armagh is over 90% Nationalist, and the population is opposed to the British Army presence.
