Craigavon Borough Council is a Local Council in County Armagh in Northern Ireland. The headquarters of the Council is in Craigavon, on the shores of Lough Neagh, a town built between Lurgan and Portadown. The Council area includes the large towns of Lurgan and Portadown, as well as smaller ones including Waringstown and Donaghcloney. The Council spends £15.5 million providing a wide range of services to over 80,000 people living in the area.

The Craigavon Borough Council area consists of 4 electoral areas: Central, Loughside, Lurgan and Portadown from which 26 Council members are elected through local government elections every four years. The Council holds an Annual General Meeting in June, at which a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected. The members elected at the last election in 2001 came from the following political parties: 7 Ulster Unionist Party (UUP), 7 Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP), 6 Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), 4 Sinn Fein and 2 Independent Unionist Party (IUP). The current Mayor is Alderman David Simpson and the Deputy Mayor is Councillor Ignatius Fox.

The next election is due to take place in May 2005.

Together with part of the district of Banbridge, it forms the Upper Bann constituency for elections to the Westminster Parliament and Northern Ireland Assembly. See Also: Local Councils in Northern Ireland
