DB-9 - Definition and Overview

DB-9 is a RS-232-ish D-shell connector, with a total of nine pins across two rows (five on the top, four on the bottom). Not part of the real spec, but commonly used for serial communications.

DB-9 connectors are also used for some token ring networks.
