Dalston Kingsland railway station - Definition

Dalston Kingsland station serves the North London Line. It is located on the Western side of Kingsland High Street (A10) in Dalston, opposite the popular Ridley Road market and is in Travelcard Fare Zone 2.

It opened on 16th May 1983. Service intervals here vary from approximately 7 minutes during rush-hours to 30 minutes on Sundays. The NLL is both a.c. and d.c. electrified at this point.

The service is operated chiefly by Class 313 electric multiple units (EMUs); these trains can collect both a.c. and d.c. power and change from one system to the other ("pantograph-up, pantograph-down", dependent on direction of travel) here.
