In Irish mythology, Danu or Dana was the mother goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann (peoples of the goddess Danu). She was the mother of the Dagda, Dian Cecht, Lir. By the Dagda, she was the mother of Ogma.
Her Welsh equivalent was Don.
Based on the evidence of place-names, such as the river Danube (Latin: Danuvius), she may have been worshipped throughout the Celtic world.
