David George Reichert, (born August 29 1950) was the King County Sheriff from 1997 to 2004. He is an American politician who has served in the United States House of Representatives in the Eighth Congressional District of Washington state, since 2005. Reichert, a Republican, defeated KIRO-AM talk show host Dave Ross in the 2004 Congressional elections, receiving 51% of the vote. He replaced Republican Jennifer Dunn, who is retiring.
