In the fictional Star Trek universe, the Delta Flyer is a shuttle-class spaceship attached to USS Voyager.
The Delta Flyer was originally the brainchild of Lt. Tom Paris. Lt. B'Elanna Torres contributed her engineering skills and Seven of Nine her expertise in Borg weaponry to the ship's design. Finding Voyager's complement of shuttles inadequate for the retrieval of a multispatial probe from the dangerous atmosphere of a gas giant, Paris convinced Captain Janeway to build the Flyer.
The Delta Flyer features an ultra-aerodynamic tetraburnium alloy hull, retractable warp nacelles, parametallic hull plating, unimatrix shielding, and a Borg-inspired weapon system. At Paris' insistence, the pilot's station features (fully functional) buttons, levers, gauges and other anachronistic elements instead of the standard Starfleet touchscreen.
In 2376, the Delta Flyer was outfitted with a Borg transwarp coil in order to travel to Unimatrix 1 to free Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. Cmdr. Tuvok, and Lt. Torres from the Borg. The Delta Flyer was destroyed in the encounter, but was rebuilt in 2377.
