The Democratic Centre (Croatian: Demokratski centar, DC) is a Croatian political party. The Party was formed in 2000 by Mate Granić who left the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) after their loss on legislative elections and his presidential elections loss. DC proclamed itself as moderate version of HDZ. In 2003 DC got 1 ministerial seat in the Croatian Government. At the end of 2004, Granić left DC after several financial public scandals. The party is led by Vesna Škare Ožbolt and has one representative in the Croatian Parliament. Since October 15, 2002, the Democratic Centre Party has observer status in the European People's Party.
