Der Standard is a liberal newspaper in Austria,based in Vienna. It was founded by Oskar Bronner,who is still the publisher, in 1988 as business paper,but reports now from all ressorts. It is often demand abroad for press statements about news from Austria. The paper has around 400,000 readers.
