Dinara Mikhailovna Safina (born April 27, 1986) is a professional women's tennis player, who is currently ranked number 41 by the WTA. Her highest singles rank was 29 on April 12, 2004. She is the younger sister of another tennis champion, Marat Safin, who won the US Open in 2000. She was born in, and currently resides in Moscow, Russia.
Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 154 pounds, Safina plays right-handed. She turned pro in 2001. In addition to playing singles, Safina also plays doubles tennis. Her high rank for doubles was 54 on July 5, 2004.
She is sponsored by companies Adidas and Babolat. Like her older brother Marat Safin, Dinara started playing tennis when she was very young. However, she is not simply Marat Safin's little sister. Rather, Safina is an up-coming tennis star with a bright future ahead of her.

In the 2004 Australian Open, Safina upset Amanda Coetzer of South Africa before losing to t o Kim Clijsters of Belgium.
