The Dirty Three is a three-piece band, formed in 1993, in Melbourne, Australia. Members are Warren Ellis (violin), Mick Turner (guitar/accordian), and Jim White (drums). The Dirty Three has toured with Sonic Youth, Pavement, Cat Power, and Shannon Wright.

Warren Ellis is also a full-time member of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds since 1996. Mick Turner performs also solo, produces art which has been exhibited in Italy and New York, and runs the band's own record label Anchor & Hope.
