A dispatcher works at a central station, sends out personnel in response to inquiries from the public, usually through a telephone or radio, and coordinates communications, relaying messsages as needed.
An Emergency or 911 dispatcher answers voice and TTY calls, and then dispatches the needed service(s). (Police, fire, ambulance, or a combination)
