Domovoi Butler, usually referred to simply as "Butler", is a fictional character in the Artemis Fowl series of books by Eoin Colfer. Butler is Artemis' bodyguard, both highly trained and loyal, he has become a sort of father/older brother figure to Artemis. Butler is killed in the beginning of the third book (Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code) by Arno Blunt, but is revived by fairie magic used by Holly Short. When Butler is revived by Holly, he has aged by several years, causing him to hand over the position of Artemis's bodyguard to his sister, Juliet. He was become too old for this buisiness, not to mention, due to a few complications, he can't breathe as easily as before, further impairing his physical activities. However, he still remains a figure of wisdom and support to Artemis.
Little is know about Butler's family, besides his sister Juliet.
