Donald McKay (1810-1880) was a Canadian-born American shipbuilder. Born in Nova Scotia, he owned a shipyard in Boston that created swift clippers, considered among the most beautiful ships ever to sail. Among the most famous of these were the Flying Cloud, the Great Republic, the Sovreign of the Seas, and the Glory of the Seas.
