Dorado (Latin for Swordfish) is a southern constellation. It first appears in Johann Bayer's Uranometria of 1603, but probably received its name earlier. It is notable for containing most of the Large Magellanic Cloud, the remainder being in the constellation Mensa.

Other uses

The term dorado is used in the fisheries of some Latin American countries to denote the edible fish mahi-mahi (Coryphaena hippurus).
