Dore is a village in South Yorkshire. It is now a suburb of Sheffield, England, having been part of Derbyshire before 1934.
The village lies on a hill above the River Sheaf. It has a reputation of being Sheffields wealthiest suburb, and is the only ward of the city that regularly elects a Conservative councillor.
Dore was first mentioned in 829, when it was the site where King Ecgbert became the first king of England by accepting the submission of the Northumbrian army.
