Downhill Battle is a non-profit organization whose goal is to end the major label monopoly and build a fairer music industry.
Downhill Battle believes that the four major record labels have a monopoly that is bad for both musicians and music culture, but they also believe that they have an opportunity to change that. They believe that they can use tools like filesharing to strengthen independent labels and end the major label monopoly.
They are also known for their projects such as Grey Tuesday, Banned Music, FreeCulture.org, Peer-to-Peer Legal Defense Fund and more.
