Duncan White (b. March 1, 1923, Lathpandura, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) - d. 1999, Sri Lanka) Sri Lankan athlete who won the first medal for his country in an Olympic game, a silver, in the 400-metre hurdles at the 1948 games in London, England.

White was born on March 1st, 1923 in Lathpandura near Kalutara, in the then British owned Ceylon, the second of four children of John Bernard White and Cecilia Hawk White. White won the medal the same year Ceylon became independent from Britain. He had trained for only about 3 months before the games while Roy Cochran of the USA, the gold medalist had trained for about 4 years. White's time for the event, 51.8 secs only 0.7 secs behind Cochran, along with Cochran's time bettered the existing Olympic record.

In the British Empire Games in Auckland, New Zealand in 1950, White won the 440-yard hurdles, only 0.3 secs behind the world record. He was awarded the MBE in 1949 and was honored with a postage stamp in Sri Lanka in 1988. White died in 1999 in Sri Lanka.

White was married to Angela White. They had one son Duncan Jr. Two of his brothers were Frederick A. White, also an athlete and Stanley Leonard White.
