Dungog is a small town and Local Government Area (Shire of Dungog) in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Australia. The name is said to be a corruption of an Aboriginal word meaning "a clean hill." It is in the middle of dairy country, with some coal mining.
The town is served by the North Coast railway line.
