"E-boat" is the British and American name for the German Schnellboot (S-boot), a small, fast torpedo boat a little larger than the American PT boat and the British MTB.
The boats were 34.9 metres long, weighing up to 100 tonnes and could travel at 43.8 knots powered by three 20 cylinder 2000hp MB501 diesel engines driving three propellers.
