E-mentoring is a term typically used to describe the relationship between a 'learner' and another individual who is acting in the role of an online mentor or e-mentor.
The primary distinguishing feature of e-mentoring from its closest phenomenon (e-tutoring) would be the lower priority given in e-mentoring to teaching in the form of lessons and exercises and the higher priority which e-mentoring gives to support, advice and guidance (sometimes referred to as e-coaching and e-counselling).
