The early history of Greece is commonly described as: Early Helladic (c.2800 - 2000 B.C.), Middle Helladic (c.2000 - 1500 B.C.), and Late Helladic (c.1500 - 1100 B.C.).
The Early Helladic period is marked by the arrival in Greece of a non-Indo-European language speaking, agricultural people. Very little is known of this society except that they came from northern Asia Minor, worked metal and there arrival coincides with the beginning of the bronze age.
The Early Helladic period corresponds to the Old Kingdom in Egypt.
