Ecological validity - Definition and Overview

One of the forms of validity for an experiment. For an experiment to be ecologically valid, its results in the test should have some bearing on those outside, eg. testing human memory by asking people to remember strings of random letters is ecologically invalid, because people don't do that sort of thing normally.
