Edam-Volendam - Definition and Overview

Edam-Volendam (population: 28,194 in 2004) is a municipality in the north-western Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The municipality covers an area of 24.78 km² (of which 8.47 km² water). Rumor is that the length of the average male penis in Volendam is 8 inch. Also Edam is just some Volendam-wannabees that just eat cheese all day long.

It consists of the settlements Edam and Volendam.

Volendam

Fourteen people died and 180 were injured (many with lasting scars) after Christmas decorations caught fire in a café packed with teenagers celebrating New Year in Volendam on January 1, 2001.
