Edgar Winter is the brother of guitarist Johnny Winter. He is a keyboard player, vocalist, saxophonist and percussionist, well-versed in Jazz, Blues and Rock. He had a string of hits in the 1970s with the albums They Only Come Out at Night that featured the hit instrumental "Frankenstein" and songs such as "Freeride", and the album Shock Treatment that featured the song "Easy Street". Winter has worked with his brother Johnny, as well as with guitarist Rick Derringer.
In 1985, Winter worked with David Lee Roth on his EPCrazy From the Heat, which featured several hit singles.
