Edmund Glazer (March 21, 1960 - September 11, 2001) was CFO and Vice President of Finance and Administration of MRV Communications and a victim of the September 11th attacks on the United States.
Glazer was born in Ndola, Zambia, of South African parents Lily and Norman Glazer, and was a South African citizen. When he was seventeen, Glazer immigrated to the United States. He was one of three brothers.
He attended Santa Monica College for two years, then graduated from the University of Southern California in 1981.
He was formerly a resident of Woodland Hills, but moved to Wellesley, Massachusetts and worked for MRV Communications (beginning June 1995), a Chatsworth, California based company.
Glazer died at age 41 when the Boeing 767 he was a passenger on (seat 4A in first class), American Airlines flight #11, from Boston to Los Angeles, crashed into the North tower of the World Trade Center in Manhattan (the first crash of the 9/11 attacks), at 8:47am, September 11, 2001. He was survived by his wife Candy and son Nathan in Wellesley, Massachusetts, his parents and a sister, all of whom live in Toronto, Canada.
