Edward Ka-Spel, a singer-songwriter, was born January 23, 1954 in London, and is currently living in The Netherlands. Combining dark folk, psychedelic and industrial, his music is experimental and darkly atmospheric. His lyrics often have mystical themes, often incorporating recurring themes from his personal mythos.
He is best known as the lead vocalist and songwriter for The Legendary Pink Dots, but is a prolific artist who has released many solo albums under the names Edward Ka-Spel, The Prophet Qa'Sepel, and D'Archangel. In 1987 he began a collaboration with Skinny Puppy member and long-time admirer cEvin Key under the name Tear Garden.
He is also a poet. His books include: Love and Loud Colours.
