Admiral Sir William Edward Parry KCB of HMS/HMNZS Achilles/HMINS Delhi was the second Commander-in-Chief of the (Imperial) Indian Navy and was the commanding officer of achlles at the 1939 Battle of the River Plate.
Parry was the C-in-C of the Indian Navy (14 August 1948 — 13 October 1951), replaced John Hall (15 Aug 1947 - 14 Aug 1948), and was replcaed by Mark Pizey.
In the 1956 film The Battle of the River Plate, Parry was played by Jack Gwillim.
