Edwidge Danticat is a Haitian-American author (her name is pronounced Ed-WEEDJ Dan-tih-CAH). She was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1969, and moved to Brooklyn, NYC at the age of twelve.
Krik? Krak! (a collection of short stories) was a National Book Award finalist in 1995.
Breath Eyes Memory was a Oprah Book Club Selection in 1998.
