Efferent Efferent

Efferent - Definition and Overview

Efferent nerve fibers carry information away from the brain. The brain controls locomotion, for example, by efferent signals to the muscles via motor nerves. Afferent nerves and signals carry information toward the brain. In the peripheral nervous system, nerves are dedicated exclusively to either afferent or efferent signalling.
