Eight is Enough was a popular television drama series which ran on ABC from 1977 to 1981.
It centered a Sacramento, California family with eight children. The role of the father was played by Dick Van Patten, while the role of the mother was first played by Diana Hyland. When Hyland died, Van Patten's character remarried, with the children's stepmother played by Betty Buckley.
