Elections in Guatemala gives information on election and election results in Guatemala. An election is a process in which a vote is held to elect candidates to an office. It is the mechanism by which a democracy fills elective offices in the legislature, and sometimes the executive and judiciary, and in which electorates choose local government officials.
Guatemala elects on national level a head of state - the president - and a legislature. The president and the vice-president are elected on one ballot for a four year term by the people. The Congress of the Republic (Congreso de la República) has 158 members, elected for a four year term, partially in departemental constituencies and partially by proportional representation.
Guatemala has a multi-party system, with two or three strong parties and a third party that is electorally successful.
