Electronic Sound was George Harrison's second solo album, and the second and final record released on the Beatles' subsidary label to their own Apple Records, Zapple Records, before it was folded at the insistance of Beatles then-manager Allen Klein. Little more than an advertisement for the primitive Moog synthesizer, it featured two lengthy improvisations on that instrument, and nothing more. Of note is that is one of the first, if not the first, albums consisting entirely of synthesizer music.

Released in May of 1969, it failed to chart in Britain, and limped to #191 on the American Billboard charts. Like 1968's Wonderwall Music before it, it is generally discarded by Harrison fans in favor of his magnum opus, 1970's All Things Must Pass when naming Harrison's first true solo album.
