Promotional poster for Elektra
Elektra is a 2005 movie directed by Rob Bowman. It is a spin-off sequel to the 2003 movie Daredevil, starring the Marvel comics character Elektra Natchios (played by Garner).
Plot
Following on from Daredevil, Elektra is revived after dying from the mortal wounds she suffered from Bullseye, by the Order of the Hand, a group of assassins who helped train her. She is assigned by the Hand's leader, Kirigi (Yun Lee), to hunt down Mark Miller (Visnjic), and his 13 year old daughter, Abby, who the Hand require for their order. Elektra discovers that Miller is an ally of her former mentor, Stick (Stamp), who was the person to help train Daredevil after he was blinded. They take on the Order of the Hand, and equipped with her trademark Sais, Elektra takes on Kirigi.
Just as the mother movie was for Matt Murdoch, the movie is all about Elektra coping with her childhood experiences and putting them behind her. The film is much more stylised than Daredevil, which was quite gritty.
