The Elgin, Joliet and Eastern (AAR reporting mark EJE) is a short line railroad operating in Chicago, Illinois, and the suburbs around Chicago. The railroad serves as a link between the Class 1 railroads serving Chicago and local industries in northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.
