Elias Hrawi (born 1930) is a Lebanese politician. He was President of Lebanon from 1989 to 1998.
He was born to a Maronite Christian family in the Zahle region of Lebanon. He first became a politician in 1972, when he became a parliamentary deputy. In 1980 he was appointed Minister of Public Works, a post he held until 1982.
Following the assassination of President Rene Mouawad in 1989, Elias Hrawi was elected President on November 24 of that year.
In 1995, at the end of the end of his six-year presidential term, the constitution was changed by the Parliament of Lebanon to extend Hrawi's term for another 3 years
Following his retirement as President of Lebanon in 1998, he was succeeded by Émile Lahoud.
