Elisabeth Hirsemann (nee Adam) was a guard at several concentration camps during the Second World War.

Elisabeth Adam was born in Rottleben, Germany on January 3, 1920. She later married and volunteered to be in the SS Women's Auxiliary. In 1944 she was sent to the Buchenwald concentration camp as an Aufseherin. In the fall of 1944 she was reassigned to the Gelsenkirchen slave labor subcamp located near the Dutch border, to guard several hundred Polish women brought to the camp from Warsaw. When the Allies became too close to the camp in early April 1945, Elisabeth guarded the evacuations to the Soemmerda subcamp near Weimar. As the Allies swept through Germany, Elisabeth was once again assigned to an evacuation transport of womn to the Ravensbruck camp near Berlin. There she stayed until the camps evacuation in late April 1945. She fled the camp before the Soviet troops arrived and has never been tried for war crimes.
