Ellon is a town of about 9,000 approximately 16 miles north of Aberdeen, Scotland. The town is essentially a dormitory town for Aberdeen and is linked to the City of Aberdeen by the A90 road. The town has been a settlement for hundreds of years. It lies on the Ythan (pronounced i-than) river, which is one of very few undeveloped river estuaries on the East coast of Scotland.
