The English River is a tributary of the Iowa River in the state of Iowa in the upper midwest of the United States.
It arises in two forks, the North Fork and South Fork. The headwaters of the North Fork are in Poweshiek County in east central Iowa. It flows roughly eastward and is joined by the South Fork in Washington County.
It then proceeds eastward, past the town of Riverside before joining the Iowa south of Iowa City.
