Enigmail is a public key encryption plugin for versions of Mozilla and Mozilla Thunderbird under Microsoft Windows or Unix-like operating systems. It uses the GNU Privacy Guard (GnuPG or GPG) to provide actual cryptographic functionality, but by providing a plugin, it is not necessary to encrypt or sign text files from the command line, and then manually paste them in, as is the usual case without a plugin.
