Epena is the name of a hallucinogenic snuff made from the red resin or exudate from the bark of several species of tree from the genus Virola. The most common species possibly being Virola theiodora. The primary active constituent of Epena is the indole alkaloid DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine.
Its usage complex is similar to that of Yopo and Vilca.
