Errata - Definition

An erratum is a correction of a manual, handbook or other nonfictional text that contained mistakes. Errata are most commonly issued shortly after the original text was published. Patches to security issues in a computer program are also sometimes called errata.

In the context of trading card games, errata are official changes to the rule text of a card after it is actually printed. After an errata, the text written on the card is no longer considered accurate. Wizards of the Coast maintains errata for Magic:The Gathering on a database called Oracle, which contains up-to-date rules for every Magic: The Gathering card.

In the computer game Discworld Noir, Errata is the name of the Ephebian (equivalent of Greek) goddess of discord. It is a play on Eris, the actual goddess of discord, and the confusion errata may sometimes bring about as to which interpretation is the correct one.
