Ethnarch Ethnarch

Ethnarch - Definition

The title of Ethnarch was used in the Roman east to refer to rulers of vassal kingdoms who did not rise to the level of Kings. The most well-known is probably Herod Archelaus, son of Herod the Great, who served as Ethnarch of Judaea and Samaria between 4 BC and 6 AD.
