Explosive Reactive Armour. A reactive armour, that explodes when hit by either kinetic energy or high explosive antitank (HEAT) projectiles, disrupting the round, and degrading its penetration. Explosive reactive armour is most effective against HEAT rounds.
The new Russian Kontakt-5 ERA is not completely destroyed when hit - it still functions as armour after exploding.
